I do not belong to any organized religion. I actually have quite a cynical view of organized religion at the moment. Everything is so black and white (because it all comes from the word of an unquestionable higher authority) and it seems to obvious that the organization's #1 priority is the extermination of "competing" religions either through "spreading the word" or by outright war.

I don't know if that's the result of growing up a Southern Baptist or watching my brother in-laws convert to Mormonism. Probably both. What kind of religion tells you that your own mother can't attend your wedding?

Ok, sorry, that was a minor bash, but true. My mother in law (actually pretty much my wife's entire immediate family) could not attend her son's wedding because it was performed at the local Temple.

Not to say I'm atheist. I'm not. The universe had to come from somewhere. (yeah yeah, Big Bang. But where'd it come from? Who flicked that ball of quantum energy to start it moving?)

Something's out there. I just believe I'm not smart enough to understand what it is.
