Re: Congrats to our newest Ashigaru
I am just a pre-press and printing worker. I got lucky and we (the wife and I)
decided to go indepenent about 16 years ago. That lead to a mssive amount
of self teaching and learning from errors. Then I got a lot of calls as to how we
got certain types of files to print and how to get color seperartions from a file.
So it was clear that the whole printing world was going digital and nobody knew
WTF they were doing other than ruining work flows. So we went full bore into
just prodution and consulting. Between the computers and my time around presses
it was a perfect fit and a bit of a niche. This was a job we prepped and proofed and
had already de-bugged. I knew it was not the file, but it was a dated coupon insert
and had to be ready for this Sunday's newspapers. It does not happen often, but
I told the rep that if I got there and it was not a fault in our files then my expenses
and time were billable. They sent a PO number and I hit the road.
Not an expert, just a lot of analog and digital experience seamlessly integrated.
My wife gets the credit, it was her idea to start the company.
