Demur, if she actually needs the medication, Ritalin isn't bad. My little brother is ADHD, and was on the medication for... two and a half years, I believe? Definitely nothing wrong with it, and like I say, if your little girl actually needs it (not just been pawned on it, etc.), then it can do wonders in helping her learn and interact with others.
It will probably be a little bit of a trial at first until they get the type/dosage correct, but once they do, everything should turn around nicely! But do make sure that they monitor her regularly! Just putting the child on the medicine and then just letting them go is not wise, because so many little factors affect how she will react and also her health. If they monitor her on a regular basis (I believe for my brother he had a doctor's appointment once a month), then any adverse effects should be avoided.
