Firefox 2.0 is out

Firefox 2.0 is officially released.

Lots of good stuff. It has an on the fly spell checker that works like the on in Word.

Also a performance tweak for those with Broadband.
If you are not comfortable making these edits to the Firefox config file then do not attempt them.
In many cases it will make Firefox peppier and it works on all versions since 1.5

Enter about:config in the Firefox address bar to edit your browser configuration.
Set network.http.pipelining to true. (You can toggle it by double clicking on it.)
Set network.http.proxy.pipelining to true.
Set network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to something bigger than 4. I set it to 20.
Create a new setting called nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set it to 0.
To create a new setting, right click on the page, select New and then select Integer (since this setting is a number).

I actually dl it and switched back to 1.5 or whatever the last version was, the theme I like to use wasn't compatible with 2.0
I'm sure it is a good upgrade though.

What happened with 2.0? This is the first complaint I have heard of it.

It is the only way to fix some glaring security problems in 1.5.

Well, it disables changing tabs by hovering and also disables the double click tab refresh.

And worst of all, alt-s brings down the history menu!!

I've made nearly 100,000 posts submitting using the alt-s keys!!! It is habit. Shit, I try to use alt-s on my instant messengers for chissakes!!!

Ahh, I did not use a lot of key board commands. I do hate it when the writers do that.

With a good firewall you would safe with 1.5 Can you uninstall 2.0 and go back to 1.5?
