Default Password Protection

Anyone know of a good program I can use to password protect my CD's or DVD's.
What I'm after is to burn my CD/DVD's with total protection knowing that no-one can copy.
Basically after burning and someone borrows it to they will not be able to put it in the CD rom without their PC asking for the password.

The reason I asked is I copied a DVD/movie for a so called friend and before long he made about 30 copies and sold them on to individuals. Needless to say if this fell into the wrong hands it would be a big worry.

I just want to ensure this never happens again, including music CD's and of course personal data backups on CD or DVD.

So c'mon you computer geeks, fire away.

I wish I had more Windows knowledge.

I am not sure if this will work.
Password Protection System - CD Edition 1.02 - Protect your CDs with a password!

I thought the latest high end release of Nero had encryption as an option.

I've already tried that program Noodles and it sent my computer haywire. I've tried a few, CD lock.

Nero 7 does encrypt files but I've reverted back to Nero 6 as V7 steals all the resources of windows.

Never heard of that one but will look it up.
Ideally I would like it so that when I burn to CD or DVD and someone picks that disc up and puts it in their PC it asks for password

Thanks for your support Noodles.

I know that is what you are looking for.

I have a feeling for movies it won't be possible because a DVD is a standard format and
the cue to start that is written into the lead in has to be the first thing read by a DVD
player or computer.
For CDs there has to be something out there unless it is for DivX.

Found a company that supplies CD's to password protect.

Products&Solutions | EncryptEase | Ricoh Global

Could be pricey though.

I'm sure the earlier versions of Nero had a facility to password protect your burnt media.

There are ways but I can't afford them as they are way too pricey..especially now. Besides it is no longer a priority right now.
