I watched him spill eggnog all over his laptop the other day. Impressively, the Dell survived, but now his 'N' and Spacebar are useless

We took the key right off, but it's fried.
Is there any way of making the Shift, or perhaps the + sign or something useless a Space button or maybe Z the N button (I could turn it sideways possibly Har-har

)??? It's running XP, and I'm not sure how or where you'd do this.
We found out you can order replacement keyboards which he'll do, but it's exam time and a temporary solution would be very nice, so long as it's reversible when the new keyboard shows up sometime.
Thanks in advance
