I don't think my lappy's tried to automatically download that yet. (maybe I have automatic updates disabled).
I had heard mixed stuff about SP1, but that was before it released. I'm afraid I don't know much details about the final outcome of it. You're the guinea pig.

Re: Vista SP1 Out!
So far... it seems better and worse at the same time... A lot of programs are loading faster, but stuff that didn't used to freeze up is now, and I have to restart it more...

It was supposed to fix a lot of minor things and make the OS work faster... though to be honest, I don't think there's much of a difference.
To be honest ~ I really dont put much trust or indeed faith in what Microsoft release these days
which reminds me of a VERY stupid thing I did when i was younger! I was dumb enough to dabble in the ouija board and asked this spirit what computer id have when i was 50 years old (theres so much wrong with that question im not going there )
The answer was A P P L E
Kinda intruiging i thought
Well ive gone n bought meself a new Dell. Managed to keep Vista at bay upto now apart from some MEDIA PLAYING problems
Apparently that is a problem with Vista because not long after I got my new computer my media player went whack ... I was going to try uninstalling and re installing but I can't even find it to uninstall it . It isn't listed in the control panel under add/remove programs ... if you figure out how to fix it let me in on the secret
