Well over in litte ol England the big celebrations used to be at the age of 21 but for the last 10 years that I know of its ben lowered to 18. I may have spoilt her a little bit but I did say to her not to expect the same kind of treatment on her 21st.

Well they are but hey, I think one big splashout is enough especially when we got to cough up for the wedding too.

Yeah... 21st is the bigger deal over here, though generally 18 is a big deal too. I'm hoping I actually get a party for my 21st, but if not, well... I'll just go out drinking and to a strip club with my friends!

I remember my 18th Birthday. I was in training for the Army. Soon after they drug me down to to an office to register for the draft... How silly feeling is that, registering for the draft while in Uniform!

Thanks guys, the party went great. It was great to see old friends & new ones too. About 130 guests & no trouble at all.

When It came to making a speech I tried to keep it short but things just got the beter of me & after about 10 15 mins My daughter ended up crying, not cos she was upset...she was so happy with everything & of course of waht I siad abou her.

Funny thing was I did it all of bat...no notes or prompts. I think I surprised myself.

When my daughter arrived with some of her friends hey all came dressed up as schoolkids.....made me laugh & I was a bit shocked at first but thought what the hell...you're only 18 once & it was her night & just went with the flow.

Now I got my stepdaughters 18th this December & my son's 18th next year.
I'd better start saving

Oh lord. A gaggle of kids all turning 18 near each other? Blessing and curse. You get your house back, but now you gotta afford uni.

Yeh, dreading the expense as my daughter is on her final year at college, & she wants to go to university after that. Univ & 2 more 18ths is gonna break the bank.

Guess I'll not be quitting work anytime soon.
