Being a kid again....

I spent my entire childhood praying for snow days, and now as a middle school teacher, I do the same thing. Yesterday, we got an unexpected day off from school thanks to 5" of the "white death!" I got to take my kids to the hill for a little sledding yesterday. Great times!!!

....but we're back today. It is supposed to drop a couple more inches tonight, so my fingers are already crossed!!

Think they know that people come from further.... and Victoria apparently sold off most of their snow equipment, so they're totally unprepared. In Vancouver, my buddies get a snow day at UBC for like, two inches. Then again, some people are commuting two hours, and in snow that's hell.

Got Friday off too!! Now I'm worried we'll use all of our calamity days up early. Don't want to have to tack a few on to the end of the year. That would suck out loud.

the schools here close if they think we might get a snow flake but that only happens once every 10 yrs or so

Were i went to primary school they closed for any reason they could think of. The closed because it was to hot once. But my high school took forever to close because there was 2 different major high ways that were always the first to get clean.

Got a 2 hour delay out this weekend latest snow and ice storm. Looks like we should have a white Christmas.
