I agree spooky...

And *grumbles* I did spend two weeks traveling visiting family up north.. and only 10 days in new york. It just so happens that I'm not happy with just having family visits in the summer... it's been 4 months and I'm itching to see them again. You know more about Tao than I do, but I know from the course I took on Chinese phil. that much of Tao is about wu wei, which is to say that one is to let things be, let nature take its course, dont push anything too hard. I just think that you trying to instill the grinch in everyone or make them check their feelings on a fun holiday doesnt come off as very Taoist... at least not to the non-expert here And for students like myself, it's not Christmas when suicide jumps, but exam periods like now and in April. But then regardless of what I say on anything, I never get it quite right so....

The chant from the early centuries was awesome, but when it got further on, the little band kids go their turn. They tried

Well I just saw all the Christmas lights around peoples house on the way home from work and there are some splendid sights. Some of the displays are just awe inspiring.

I'm not big on the decorating part, but will start this weekend...maybe. I do love to drive around the neighborhoods this time of year.

We have the usual obligatory decorations and a little tree with the presents underneath. I'm not one for presents for myself I thinks its for the kids really and the most important thing is the bonding with the family.
