I am going to be on and off site for a while guys....my wife goes in hospital for an hysterectomy. She will be in hospital for at least a week and then will be resting for six weeks minimum. She goes in Sunday at 2pm and will be operated on Monday morning.

So I am going to be extremely busy working and juggling housework and visiting hospital etc.

I will pop in as and when I can of course.

Ouch! Helped my mom when she went through hers. Lots of pain!

I wish your wife the best. Hope the surgery goes well and she has a speedy recovery!

Only an hour and a half to go before she goes in hospital.

Operation should be sometime tomorrow morning. Didn't think it would make me nervous but it has.

Thanks for all your support guys, I will pass on your thoughts to Linda. I know she was nervous too because she got up extremely early this morning (7.30am) believe me that is early for her. She can sleep through a world war and normally has 10 -12 hours.

Stressful times for us all but we'll get there.

Looks like I'll be getting plenty opportunities to cook now...God help them all!!!

I've been up since 6am (work) and finished at 6pm then straight to hospital to visit my good lady. I've just got back and it is now 9.25pm.

I need food and a drink drastically. Will have to tidy up tomorrow somehow if I find the time.

Spoke to the nurse on the way out...Linda has had everything removed so she will have to be put on Hormone Replacements also she will not be able to sleep in our bed for at least 2 weeks after she comes out as it means climbing up the stairs which is a no no! :sad: Will have to make a bed downstairs for her and get her comfortable as possible. No bending or lifting of anything whatsoever.

it will definitely be a challenging time and I can only afford to take a couple of weeks off work to take care of her but family and friends are rallying round to assist.

Just looking forward to having her home where she can relax and have company and people to care for her. I know she's being well looked after but its hard not having your loved ones near. :sad:

Still the op was a success and only a week at most in hospital as long as there are no complications.

Hard being apart from her and 3 weeks of sleeping by myself....maybe more.

Life is strange...

Right now for a drink and some food...mmm.

When I saw her today she was totally whacked out. She's still unable to move herself off the bed. We had to lift her up so she could get more comfortable. Could be longer than I thought before she is able to leave hospital.
She has a catheter for now and until she is clear without the use of it and able to walk and go to the toilet she will not be released from the ward.

These long days are a drain for us all but we can't wait to have her home. We are missing her terribly and of course she is longing to be home surrounded by friends and family too.

We men are sooooooo lucky.

It is good to read that she will be home soon. You are going to take good care of her.
She is lucky to have a good man at her side.

I remember the days when my wife was gone for 11 months after the horse riding
accident that almost killed her. I was such a wimp, this brings back some memories of
being Mr Mom and the housekeeper as well as doing her job in our company.
