Of course she does and of course she will. Exactly why I fear letting her down.

Heading out in a few to test the waters. Going to try out my Foxtrot skills in traffic at a dance club. Should be interesting. Will either put my confidence on top or burst my bubble!!

so how did it go?
haha!! Thanks for asking.

Friday night went fairly well. Super crowded floor at times that really tested my floor management. Did okay... perhaps better but not great. Worked my Tango a bit and felt totally like crap. I suck!! That dance needs some help before next friday!!

Saturday night was a slightly less crowded floor. Second song of the night Missy and I hit the floor and for a minute or two there was only one other couple. Let loose with all the moves!!! Felt and looked great!!! Was slightly odd knowing full well EVERYONE was watching us, but also felt wonderful. Did a couple of dances like that in Foxtrot that were really good, so ... That gave me the confidence to actually do a Waltz on a social floor for the first time. Went okay. Lots of coaching from Melissa, but went good. Did a couple crappy Tangos too, but... grrrr!!

Worked my tango some more today though. Will be tolerable by Friday or even good, since I feel the breaking point of floor management coming.

Now off to thank my teacher for the night and start the new week.

Good to hear it went well and definitely a night to remember. You'll be looking forward to the next one now that you have overcome the first barrier.

Thanks. Not really a confidence issue per se. Mostly, just dealing with a practically lifelong fear and some recessive issues I didn't realize were there until I started dancing.

hehehe!! I spoke too soon. Somehow I managed to simply get even closer to that threshold but not actually cross it today!! I am so frustrated, but still pretty determined to make it by Wednesday (my last day to practice at all).

Missy seems confident I would certainly not look foolish at least!! Good to hear.

Thanks again guys. This really is quite HUGE in my life.

Congratulations on the progress you've made so far and good luck, bossman! I have faith in you, as I know the rest of ASep and your loved ones there do too. Deep breaths and concentrate... always helps.

New horizons with new emotions huh? Great to see you are enjoying yourself and that is as important as the contests you participate in. I know you don't want to let Missy down but remember she'll love you more if you can accept your defeats as well as the winning,
We all have that "Pride before a fall" syndrome yet we still fear the letting ones peers down.
You'll still get everyone's support regardless and you know Missy will stand by you all the way regardless of the situation.

I just want to say I am proud of you and strangely envious of your achievement and aspirations. Thank you for sharing your experiences and baring your soul yet giving us inspiration at the same time.

Cheers Sp00k.

Kind of had to make a decision again tonight. Whether to just do it or be drug down by my past.

It would seem that I can Tango now.

One more day of hard practice with the minute thirty time limits in place and then off to Competition on Friday.
