More excitement and if you feel nervous on the night well that is a good sign. Over confidence can backfire if things go pear-shaped. Wish I could be there to support you but you know I am in spirit.

Congratulations on the progress you've made so far and good luck, bossman! I have faith in you, as I know the rest of ASep and your loved ones there do too. Deep breaths and concentrate... always helps.
Thanks Darling.

Play by play... unless I suck. And I think I even still have the ability to delete this thread.

It is all good.

Did well tonight in practice. Then kind of did a Demo for the group class at then end of class. Definitely put me on the spot and was a test. Did just fine I think.

Did I mention I did fine in my Waltz, too? Oh yes... today Melissa talked me into doing and intermediate bronze Waltz. That's okay, since it is way better than my Rumba. Oh wait... did I just say Rumba? Tonight she talked me into dancing an intermediate bronze Rumba, too!! My Rumba sucks, but I figure what the hell. You only live once, right?

Now would somebody tell me who just typed that last paragraph, cause it doesn't sound like me!!!

You are a dancing maniac. What a night. It will keep you in shape.

It is good to do other styles to break up the constant flogging of the Fox Trot.

Now please put G's body back where you found it.

You're getting a big rush from this G and it is testament to your versatility. A man with many facets but above all else a great and true friend to us all.
I'm thinking that although you've lost all your spare time, you've gained a lot more knowledge and experience and found something you enjoy tremendously and of course you've got Missy too. That is sheer bliss.

I really do hope you chronicle all this in a journal.

Back here in England is just pales into significance in comparison to your new world. That my friend is just a touch of jealousy on my behalf though I am really pleased for you. You've just about got it all now G, the future is bright....I'll get you some shades.

Wow. Having someone else say that really puts it in perspective how great I have it. I am seriously very emotional right now.

Cheers Mate.

Heading out for Portland Oregon in just a few minutes. I have to admit I don't really recall ever being happier.

Well there you go, you've hit the nail on the head. You're happy and to me that is extremely important in whatever capacity in life we travel or choose. Sure there will be a few knocks and bumps and as long as you and Missy communicate I'm sure everything will be fine.

Finding that true path to happiness is always a challenge but the rewards are far greater than anything I could ever imagine.

Happiness is the complete real deal.

haha!!

Okay, we are skipping the Waltz. It is the VERY first heat. I don't need to sit through a competition, but I'd like to at least see ONE heat first!!

I am like heats 2,3 and 7 after that, so no waiting for me!

Also, Melissa has seem like one person truly contested in years and years of competitions. Usually you are just 'graded' on your dance. Seems I am contested in EVERY one of my heats!!! So, I just might bring home a shit load of #2's!!

Oh well... True confidence is handling failures as well as successes, eh??

Off to the races, er, dances... catch you all later.

Got my ass kicked yesterday... sort of.

Came in second three out of three times against one other guy. Finally understand what Missy meant by the 'cheating'... not really cheating, but...

Seems this guy I went up against had a routine for every dance in every level. Wasn't even a different routine for the same dance at different levels!!! So... not to take away from him in anyway, but my dancing actual lead/follow had no real chance against a guy with several competitions under his belt with a routine.

In short - humble pie. Did not go over well for awhile though.

More to come after today's festivities.

thanks for the update. That is all part of the curve. Once you have a few competitions
under your belt I doubt there you will be second to anybody.

Given that that's the dude you lost to... I'd say second isn't half bad, hun.
