Well done mate, this is really good news considering the other guy has a lot more experience. Humble pie or not that is quite an achievement in such a short time.

BRAVO!

Thanks everyone.

I am still struggling a bit with getting my arse whipped in the Foxtrot and Tango. Went ahead and did two uncontested Rumbas Saturday - Newcomer and Pre-Bronze levels, which are pretty easy. So, I got my two first place ribbons!! My daughter is stoked.

Basically, I discovered what Melissa had told me - if you follow the rules completely you will likely lose.

On the bright side, Missy did her first true Pro-Am and took 2nd out of three couples. The winner is one of HER teachers, so.... not to shabby!! Yay for my lady!!

Looking like we might go back this fall. Who knows. One of the judges approached Melissa later in the competition and told her to make sure I don't quit. I had no intention of quitting, despite taking this pretty hard. Regardless, hearing this really lifted my spirits and has me bucking for more punishment!!

I have a few snapshots that another contestant took coming via email hopefully. And I could NOT get any video of the dance I wanted - my Full Bronze Foxtrot. However, my intermediate Tango and Foxtrot are coming and if I am not two embarrassed I will either post them or have Noodles help me post them.

My mind is still reeling and I've been home about and hour, so... off to spend some quality time with the kids.

Thanks again everyone. I've found a new life it seems. I am happy as ever, but sometimes we still need to hear from others that we are on the right track.

I am very happy for you G and consider this quite a positive move.

You have latched on to something special, you know it and won't lose track of it. Very
few people can say that.
I am very proud of you and Missy and I see very bright things.

Not out of the woods yet, though!! Yesterday's workout just went terrible. Foxtrot fell apart. Combined with my less than I had hoped for Friday's performance took a toll on me. We have both concluded that it was probably more fatigue and an injury of Missy's causing problems than my "going backwards". Was a tough moral blow though.

But, neither of us being quitters we were back at it today. Frame in Foxtrot is coming along even better than expected and Tango is improving already!!!

We will be back in Portland this fall I am sure, with a stronger more confident dancer filling my shoes this time.

I do love this gal. She has given me more than I could imagine in such a short time. And she is giving me dreams and goals to keep me busy for life.

We are very happy and I am glad you can share in that with me my friend. It does mean quite a lot.

I do have to say that the most expression the photos exude is happiness. I am thrilled
for all of you. You and Scooter and of course Missy and her little one.

I think its just we all want to be noticed but not to be centre of attention. That is in my eyes very disconcerting.
I can still remember that old cliche' from my last schoolteacher when I was going for my very first interview..to envisage the interviewer absolutely naked. This would help me relax and gain composure.? ..apparently. Sounded great at the time, trouble was the interviewer was a very sexy young lady.

We are all equal without any exceptions and if we are reticent at some things it just means we care for other peoples feelings too. If humanity didn't care then we wouldn't be human.
I knicked this from another thread... Hopefully that is okay Sp00k. If not delete it.

I put it here, as this is kind of where I'd hoped this thread would end up. Not so much a play by play of dancing successes and failures!!

Having said that - class went swimmingly to say the least. Practiced following a bit tonight. You gals got it easy!!!
