Google.....common!
http://blog.searchenginewatch.com/blog/060130-080248
This does not impress me.
The internet ended the cold war to a large extent, but now people like the guys at google are defeating the future successes.
For once we learned before we made mistakes...but we're going ahead and making them now anyways.....sort of an uncomfortable statement about society, and $$$
Thoughts?

Obviously its been suppressed by the chinese government/mandarins.
Google won't be too bothered as they'll still make their millions from revenue.

It was suppressed by the Chinese Government. That had a ban on Google altogether, pending censorship.
Takes time. There is still plenty of censorship in the US and likely Canada. Tons of it in Europe too. Most of it is well intended, but much is of course so governments can maintain their powerbase.
Personnally I found those pictures hysterical on that page!!! A pretty little house!
Sp00k and I discussed this a bit Tuesday on the Phone. That if you grow up believing 2+2 = 6 you would likely argue that it was true, often in the face of obvious evidence to the contrary. The Communist government in China needs to keep secrets from its people in order to keep them convinced of their own righteousness. This sort of thing is to be expected. Not unlike here in America though, just having internet and google leaves doors open for the inquisitive in that nation to exploit!!
The people will rise and the meek shall inherit the Earth!!!!
Then they will tire of the responsibility and hand it back over to the Avarious and Greedy!

That was a hell of a pregnant pause, but your right in that last statement. Power will always rule the meek.

I like it
You're an interesting character Gman.
You seem to know a lot about a lot; or at least have an interesting opinion on the matter, so I've got a question
I'm not just asking to make you type, I find your answers fasinating whether we agree or not
What type of government would best suit 'us all' ?
True Communism? Anarchism? A real democracy? Or maybe you just think we should not think about it, and focus on more important aspects of our short lives

Okay. Here it is. The best type of government does not exist, unless you consider Monarchy. A benevolent Monarchy or even a Dictatorship. Consider History: ( thought you'd like that) Marcus Aurailius of the Romans, King Richard of the Britons, etc...
Think about it like this. Virtually any system of government will work splendidly when the majority of the power has the peoples (as a whole) best interest at heart.
Here is the problem. Democracies would require most all of the people to have the collectives best interest at heart. Since we are humans and not Vulcans we have some serious evolution to go through before that happens. So you have to narrow the powerbase. Socialism (eg Communism) can work very well, since you only need to have a few people with the nations best interest at heart.
Hence, my responce of a Monarchy/Dictatorship being the best form. Unfortunately, if an evil/greedy/incompetent person takes office the nation is equally as screwed as it was blessed.
Those are my thoughts in a nutshell on that GF.

Now, that my friend is actually my first thought. All change begins with each of us doing what is right every moment of every day. So, instead of worrying about the George Bush's and Internet Corperate Giants out there, perhaps we should simply worry about our neighbors. Since we can actually do something to help them.

Sorry 'bout the slow responce, thought you'd forgotten
I totally agree with you here. It's like communism; works on paper, but in reality....
As for worrying about what really matters; I dont think there are enough people who feel the same way, but if the majority did it'd be a beautiful world

communism can only 'work' in a post industrial society, marx said that himself, and on earth, there arnt any post industrial societys, therefore true communism cannot be installed
