How rude can people be?
So I'm just about hopping mad at this sad little tale, I will give you the details and you can judge for yourself.
My youngest sister had one of hers friends from school over, from around noon until just now (6:00 PM). Bit of a back story, when my sister went to their house, when it was time to pick her up, they never aswered the door when we knocked. Never said "Cara will be out in a sec, she's getting her boots and coat on".. nothing, strike one!
She gets here and things are going good, and then we get a phone call from her parents. Her parents tell her that she needs to stay here for an extra hour, she was suppose to be picked up at 5:00PM. They don't even talk to either of my parents to see if it's ok, or even thank them for letting her stay an extra hour while they go out and cruise the town. What if my parents had plans.... which they did, luckly I was there to pick up the extra time. Fine, second strike.... then when they come to get her, they just pull up in the driveway and honk the horn.... WTF???? third strike, and in all that they never said "Thank you for keeping our snot nosed brat longer then you should have".
So what do you guys think?
Oh and so this thread isn't a one trick pony, tell your tales of people acting rude towards you.

Oh that would sssoooooooooooooooooooooo piss me off. I can't stand rude people. Guess it's a pet peeve of mine.
First rude thing that comes to mind for me is when I get wrong numbers. Our house gets calls all the frickin' time that aren't for us. They're for the bank, or some sub shop, or for random people we've never heard of. We get somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-12 of these every day.
Now I can understand you dialed it wrong... or whatever person that you were talking to didn't want to hear from you, so they made up a number and it just happened to be ours (our number is extremely easy and one that could easily be made up), but the rudeness, when I tell you "I'm sorry, you have the wrong number" is not warranted!
For instance, yesterday I got a call for some dude... whatever, he doesn't live here, nor have I ever heard of him. When I told the chick that she had the wrong number, she preceded to recite my number back to me. "Is this ###-###-####?" ... "Yes it is, but that person doesn't live here." ... "But <fill in name here> told me to call him at this number by 3 o'clock..." ... "He doesn't live here, I'm sorry" ... "That's bullshit! You're just some jealous-ass girl that don't want him to talk to nobody. Put <insert name here> on the phone!!" ... and being rather pissed off... I finally just hung up on her!

Yes. The world is full of dipshits and assholes.
In light of several events recently, I'm starting to give up getting riled up over shit like this. Dont know if becoming more an more apathetic is a bad thing, but I see it coming.
What gets me is people who have not been tought anything about conversation surrounding finances. I have one friend (ONE!) who has also been taught by his parents how rude it is to blatantly ask how much you make, or have, or something was. It's private, and I have some friends who are BRUTAL about it. I dont know how they were raised and nobody told them such simple things, but to me it's ubelievable.

I agree, there are a hell of a lot of ignorant people. A sad reflection of our times. the old "I don't give a shit routine" or "I'm alright STFU" attitude.
Hard to find people with good manners & etiquette amongst the younger generaton. Saying that there are quite a lot like that in my generation too.
Yeh apathy is rife & its tearing up the communities.
Some say if you can't beat them join them.
btw GF you're not getting apathetic, you're mellowing.

There's a lot of good people out there too so in generalising the topic, its a kind of balance. Trouble is it seems to be tipping the scales to one side.

There's a difference in stereotypes and generalizations.
