Default Lent?

I cant remember if anyone else here told me they were religious or not... but if you're Christian you know it's lent... that fun time of year when you give somethin up you love for 40 days

This year... I kicked myself right in the balls. I gave up all things greasy, fried, chips, pop, chocolate, candy. You know, the good stuff With 2 weeks still to go, it's gettin' a bit boring.

Anyone else 'lenting' this year?

No...though I'm trying to do the no-meat friday thing which also isn't working out for me. But everyone I work with is Catholic so I'm constantly reminded..especially when I go to the cafeteria for lunch.

I can never figure out what to give up...a little too selfish for that. I spend my days dieting..how much more do I have to give??

I am not Christian so as a heathen I can eat what I want except for 8 days a year.

However my wife and daughter are Catholic and they both gave up chocolate and no
meat on Fridays.

Passover

8 days of unleavened products. Lots of Matza. When the Jews fled egypt they had no
time for the bread to rise so they just cooked it flat.

No wheat noodles but matza ball soup.

I comes from when Moses led the Jews around the desert for 40 years looking for a quarter
