Ouch, I did it again

Okay here we go again.

Well at 4-5am last night we had the roof spring a minor leak. So up I go and spend an hour
chiseling ice away off the gutters. No problem. Got back inside and settle in until 9am.
Then The ice kept coming so I told the wife I am going to test the roads before they
drive 30 miles in crap weather to see The Lion King stage production.

I get halfway back to the house and wham, flat out on my head. It was sheet ice.
There was 2 inches of slush on top of it. So I crawl in the house and the back of my
head is split open and I am talking jibberish. Time for a ride from the friends at 911.
Concussion, sprained neck and 6 staples in the back of my head. The roads were
so bad it took 95 minutes for my wife to get to the ER. The ambulance had chains on
and almost lost control 2 times.

Tomorrow I am having the feed mill drop of 400 pounds of ice melt and plan to use
it liberally every winter at any sign of snow or ice.

It will be a few days before I am feeling better according the ER doc and the ortho doc.

More fun in the country. I consider myself lucky. People die from this type of fall
all the time.

So if I seem to be a bit whacko it is the meds and I am really one messed up person.

I am`surprised to see you here to be honest. That must be one mean cut you have.

We have warnings over here if the weather is as severe as yours and that is only make your journeys if absolutely necessary. Mind you I wouldn't like to miss any show either so......

Feeling woozy huh?......not as good as alcohol.

Seriously I hope you take it easy out there...no more heights until your completely healed.

Well some good rest and a little food seemed to help. I woke up and went to
brush my hair.

That woke me up. No coffee or tea needed.

My wife says the back of my head looks like a maniac with a staple gun had a seizure.

In a week the staples come out and hopefully winter will be over.

Seriously, your head is going to be a lot sensitive until they do come out. Still very lucky you're walking. and alive.

Sort of gives you a reality check does it not?

Man Noodles, that's terrible and Spook is right you are lucky. Hope you are well soon...take care!!!
I'm with BB on the ice and snow...we get it rarely and it is a nice change when we do but I don't envy you a bit. Been watching the weather and you guys have really gotten hammered this year.
