Any watch the awards last night?

The soundtrack award went to Three six mafia for a song that's called "it's hard out here for a pimp"
*barfs again*

All the songs sucked that were nominated if you ask me, but that one especially. They performed it before the award; the girl who sungs the main line "it's hard out here for a pimp" was marginal at best....besides, she had one line to sing and if you cant get that squared away....can we not give the group an award?

I was just pissed to see that...

Music they're makin for people our age, this rap shit....it's just weak 85% of the time. There is some alright stuff being made, some stuff thet is about serious topics....but it's hard out here for a pimp? What happened to the stuff my parents got to listen to? ACDC, Rolling Stones, Beatles, BTO, CCR, Niel Young... I shoulda been born before the 80's came and destroyed music I think

I think I need to go break something...excuse me please!

Again...thoughts?

I can lend you my old "Callsign Extraction Aid" that we used in Intel to come up with enemy callsigns on our Commander's Demand. Probably works well with stats too!!

All I have to say is... this is why most of the music I like is either older, or non-mainstream... And rock of any type is always better than the rest of that crap... well, IMO, anyways...

I dono.... I dislike a lot of rap too...but at least they didnt give it to an Emo band....I geuss that's a possitive if you ask me

Like Good Charlotte or Green Day? Are their lives so bad they hafta dress in all black and sing crap about how hard life is with a dad who expects more, or about blowing your head off because there's no milk in the fridge? Fecking Emo kids now too...dress in black and try and be all dark and shady... GET OVER YOURSELVES!! Fuckers make our generation look awful!!!

Well... I personally like Gothic clothing styles, but Emo is taking it a bit far...

And I really don't think Green Day is Emo. They're Punk, if anything. And Good Charlotte, well... I don't know, as I've never really listened to them!

agree with you on this one -- we didnt' watch the song except for the first 10 seconds of it -- rap crap and turned the channel .. .

the way it is if it cant' be understood or is offencive , from what i heard - offencive and bad at the same time .

some rap may be good , serious i agree - but song that was shit from the start .

and now it a big hoop la for rap because the academy did this f-up thing .

85% ? pretty close id' guess 90% . and it will get worse , now everyone who cant' sing will do it, about any thing .

dont' think rap is true music or singing - talking to some beat music to tell a story .

now im' loosing my head again -- to much to belive

Best line of the night - Jon Stewart goes something like "Oscar Count - Martin Scorcese - 0, Three Six Mafia - 1"

It's the attitude assosiated with it that bothers me. It's so anti-social and it just comes off as violent and negative to the rest of society. I'm not just talking about clothing

Ok, maybe Green Day wasnt the best example (even though punk is not really different from Emo from how I kinda see it).....how 'bout Simple Plan? They're pretty much the deffinition of Emo Singing about how 'nobody understands' and locking yourself in a room and screaming because 'nothing feels alright' and 'nobody feels like me' *pukes yet again*
Or Billy Talent?
It's just such a terrible message for kids to hear...they end up Emo and it's all just a big gong show at this point....

What happened to Classic Rock? I dont understand how nobody is really turning it out anymore *throws a brick at Billy Idol and then Billy Talent*

And yeah... not real fond of the whole Emo outlook on life in general... don't mind the clothes, though... rather like them, actually... *wuvs her corset, black leather pants, and hooker boots* The whole "the entire world sucks and everyone's out to get me" mentality should get them all shot!

Yeah... I understand what you mean with Simple Plan... I mean, I do listen to them (what plays on the radio), but... meh... Some people take that sort of shit too seriously. As if teenagers weren't angsty enough!

I don't know much about this stuff, but I had a visitor here who said "Green Day" was borderline EMO and she has partied with them, so....
