Re: speeding fine
Thats a bummer tho its only a matter of tike before people get caught. I think I've been more than fortunate up to now (clean licence) and the luck can't last forever.
Most people speed but not excessively so. However that doesn't bode well in the eyes of the law as no matter if you'reonly doing 5mph over the top you are done for.
Good luck with the job Rik. What type of work have you applied for?

Sorry to here about the fine Rik. I have had a couple and even a revocation due to some crazy speed. I learned to drive in the UK and had the "red L" on the back of a 1979 Ford Capri V-6 (I bet Spook remembers those days) It was a fast car.
Never got nicked in the UK, but back in the states I got nailed.
Which B.A. plant did you apply at? My firends father worked at the big one in Surrey until he retired and moved to Southhampton. I hope you get the job, it is a great company.

BA at Samlesbury in Lancashire. Though ive also applied at Warton in Lancs which is where my father works. (Hes worked at both AND Preston when it was open)
And i know ALL about capris bro
One guy down the road from me had one kick ass all black 3 litre turbo (done by himself on course). Lowered, twin exhaust, alloys, blacked out windows etc. Cool
and another guy had a rusty green capri. Except hed changed the wording to CRAPI ~ made me laugh anyways

Re: speeding fine
I have a good feeling about the job prospect now knowing your father is in good standing with the company. I know nepotism should enter into it, but the people looking at you can't help but look at your father's tenure with the company.
That Capri of mine was crazy. It was the dark metallic green 3.0 litre. I could not believe how fast it was. It was dusting of all kinds of so called sports cars. It was stolen in London and it was replaced with a Mini 1275 GT. Which was a hoot and handled a lot better, but had no where as much grunt as the Capri.
Anyway, best of luck on the BA job.

Re: speeding fine
I Got pulled over in August for 42 in a 25. I was on my way to a friend of my Brother-in-law's house to drop off a keg of bud light for a Suprise Birthday party for my B-I-L. The house belong to the Old Mayor of the town and a friend of the Officers- after talking with him for a 3 minutes he soon firgured out that I was a Law Enforcement officer. After that we became quick friends and I left with a Warning.

Re: speeding fine
You lucky dog. I have a couple of buds that are deputies up here and anywhere they get pulled over in the region all they do is show their badge with their license and in few minutes just a verbal warning is handed out.
