It was very special, it had hi-perf 302 so it for the Trans-Am series racing homolagation.
(at least 500 production models had to built for eligibility in the series)
5 litres was the engine size limit so they punched out a 289 to 302 CI
and really opened it up, The car was only driven summers until 82 when I
moved back to the states. In spring of 83 my brother lost control in the rain
and smacked a mountain wall. They insurance company would not give me
the money it was worth because I did not have it appraised as a collectors
car and got $3000 for it. It had $11,000 in damage. Today the car might
be worth as much $60-75k. I paid $4000 for it from a lady who
said it was too hard to drive and just wanted to dump it.

It pissed Jake Blues off. I quit smoking last summer after almost 23 years of smoking.

The current Pontiac GTO is a Holden with a 5.7 litre 400hp V-8.

It is an excellent value for its performance.
