Promotional Artwork for Work

This is the designs I came up with (and were used although there were some slight variations to the finished products) for X-Men 3, a tie in with our local bowling ally.

Although it wasn't my job to do the artwork after showing some rough designs to my boss and the bowling centres boss I got the go ahead to produce both the leafets (front and back) and promo cards which had to differ for each site.

Below is the copies I have in Jpeg format, the finished ones are still on my laptop.

The actual backgroud images I got from posters and off websites, Fox did allow me to use them.

I've only posted the front leafet, and the promo card for my place as the rear leaflet won't upload and the other promo card is just the same but with different text.

I dunno, file size was really big though. That artwork was the first I'd done anything like that, and really the first time I experiemented with Photoshop so was quite happy it was used

Anyways I got some other artwork I'd done for a seperate thing at work but didn't get used, though not on this pc so will get them to put on here soon

a tip,
if you have the jpegs in photoshop, instead of saving them straight out, you should have a 'save for web' option under the file menu. This optimises the file (or you can set it to optimise to whatever filesize you want) and saves it without preview etc to make it easier to upload.

Cheers mate, hopefully gonna be having a talk with some local companies and seeing if they want artwork done, good friends with a local printing company so can get it printed cheap

all the good stuff

photoshop CS on the Mac, InDesigh, Illustrator, Acrobat, Quark, a bit of FreeHand, some PageMaker, ImageReady, and a few others...

but shop is what your gonna want... me thinks.

did you get the tip i gave you a couple posts back?

I've got Photoshop which I use most and Coral Draw which I've not had time to try

I've used that tip before but as it was just for reference on the works PC I left it at max quality, though will save any for on here at a lower resolution

well you can 'save to file size' in image ready...

then the resolution gets optimised without losing too much detail.

and i used Corel a few years back, but it's not really industry standard, but i have heard some new things about it that are improvements.
