What a great idea, Nightmare!
I am wondering what you can come up with for a chronic cough that seems to be from congestion in the chest. This is for my sick daughter.

Somewhere if I can find it I have a chest rub made with essential oils .. I'll keep looking but I do have a list of herbs that work for cough and some for congestion
Congestion
buchu, comfrey, ginger, alfalfa, mullein, sage, violet
Coughs
anise, bergamot, borage, buchu, clover, elderflower, ginger, lemon
thyme, maidenhair fern, marjoram, mullein, rose hip, rosella,
violet
Violet seems to be good for both cough and congestion so maybe would be your best choice ... I would suggest ginger and lemon thyme in combo with violet for a decent taste ..Basically you combine the herbs in a tea steeper if you have one , Pour boiling hot water to fill the steeper to the rim.Steep tea for 20 minutes until the hot tea cools down You can add a bit of sugar or honey (which also soothes scratchy throat) to make taste better and if you dont have a tea steeper you can put the herbs and bout a cup to cup and 1/2 of water in a boiler bring to a boil , reduce heat and let simmer about 5-10 mins strain and let cool down before serving ( same results and how I do it ) As far as measurement of herbs you have to use your best judgement , you don't want to make it too strong or too weak make take a try or 2 to get it just as you want it
I will look and see what else I can find when I get home from softball practice ... I hope your daughter gets to feeling better

Try either of these massage oils GF The second one is easier to make and less ingredients , also the scent of lavender is very calming and relaxing
Aromatherapy Massage oil for Muscle aches
1/2 cup carrier oil ( Hazel Oil and/or Flax Oil)
20 drops juniper
20 drops lemon
10 drops thyme
Add essential oils and carrier oil to a clean dark bottle. Gently shake to
blend. Warm blend by soaking closed bottle in hot water. When oil is warmed,
massage into sore muscles. HINT: For extra relief from aching muscles, try
using Emu Oil mixed with Hazel or Flax Oil!
Lavender Tense Achy muscle Relief
Because lavender contains ingredients such as aldehydes that help to
reduce inflammation, and it helps relax tense muscles. Add a few
drops to 1 teaspoon of a good carrier oil such as olive or grapeseed
(available in the health food store). and massage into achy muscles

If you toss and turn and just can't get to sleep try this blend.
You'll need 4 oz of carrier oil
add
15 drops Chamomile
7 drops Clary Sage
10 Drops Frankincense
Massage on chest and base of neck
Calming (relaxing) Bath Salt
2 parts lavender
2 parts Epsom salt
2 parts rose petals
1 part chamomile
mix ingredients and add to warm bath
A little Lavender oil added to your bath is also good for a calming effect

You're quite welcomed GF ... Just think how cool you would be if you made her some bath salts or massage oils and creatively packaged them for a gift .. ya might get more than a massage
