There are no opening credits or titles. The title of the movie appears as graffiti late in the film.

next clue.....

Martin Sheen had a heart attack during the filming and some shots of his character's back are of doubles, including Sheen's brother who was flown out specially. Coppola was so worried that backing would be withdrawn by the studio and distributor if news of Sheen's heart attack leaked out, that he kept it quiet, even to the extent of explaining Sheen's hospitalization as being due to "heat exhaustion" in the official Shoot Schedule.

Jean Shepherd's book "In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash", which the film is partly based on, is a collection of short stories that Jean Shepherd wrote for "Playboy" magazine during the 1960s

that last one was a huge clue as there are many many similarities between the movie and "The Wonder Years"

yes, the movie spanned a very specific time frame but the show that was inspired by it, didn't have the same restriction.
