Just saw TRANSFORMERS movie...

I know this is the wrong area, but...
HOLY FUCKIN' SHIT!

I have bitched and whined about the Hollywood studio system, and gone on and on about how they fuck everything up. Not this time! This is THE BEST MOVIE I HAVE SEEN SINCE THE MATRIX. Period.

I just KNEW they would screw this movie up, so my expectations were super low. I planned to walk out of the theater angry that I blew seven bucks on a matinée show. I could not have been more wrong. They adapted the story very well, put in the most key players, and portrayed the military in a positive light.

What? What about the robots? HOLY SHIT THE ROBOTS! That's all I have to say. This movie is action packed, does not have the Spiderman 3 soap opera after taste, and you get PLENTY of robots for your money.

GO SEE THIS MOVIE

I can see why there have been so few movies released this summer. This movie is a juggernaut and will kill everything in it's path...

I heard the movie was coming out and thought, "Whatever." Having seen the trailers I am stoked though.

I might have to wait a couple of weeks to watch it with my daughter though. Not sure.

As for this thread being here...

I'll likely move it tomorrow or this weekend.

I was NOT impressed.

Worth seeing, but...

Started out terrific, but lost its 'dark' edge. I think if it had stayed dark and continued to steer clear of the 'cartoon' angle it would have been stellar.

Wonderful cast though.

And I agree with Sparky. Megan Fox is gorgeous!!

Michael Bay definately did it justice...that was my main concern...it was a very nice movie to look at, the CGI didn't look CGI, there wasn't that distinct superimposed shadow that you can almost always see with these types of movies...I'm not sure what you were expecting G, it is a movie based on a cartoon, so of course it's going to be cartoony.

I agree... but I dont like Shia Labeouf all that much. His characters seem to differ very little from movie to movie.

watch "A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints" it just might change your mind and prove he's actually a decent actor.

It didn't have to be.

Spawn was based on a comic and the ANIMATED version is the darkest thing I've probably ever seen.

Batman was a comic and the first movie (and last) were very dark and 'believable'.

Guyver was originally Japanese Anime and had its cartoon goofiness, but the movie was dark and serious. Not a very good movie, but still validates my point.

and to further explain:

The first 20 minutes or so of Transformers was FUCKING dark!!

A whole US Military installation wiped out?!?! That is NOT very cartoony at all ! They could have maintained that throughout if they had wanted.

But nooooo.... They wanted the kiddie dollars too. Which is kind of fucked up too if you think about it. We'll have playful Autobots to appease the kids and people dying all over too!! Fun for the whole family?

I would still see it in the theaters for the FX. A++. But I agree. They should have made it a teen/adult film, beginning to end.

Just kidding i think??? I freaking loved it Beggining to end!!!! They talk about sex openly the freaking changing was flawless!!!! I loved all the main charecters they each have their own style and blended well!!! So take that!!!

I don't think I could force myself to sit through it a second time.
