Really not nearly as bad as I expected. Better than the first one, and great special effects, the yeti and ton-tons aside. I enjoyed it.
Star Wars, Empire and Jedi are awesome
Its from thereon that Lucas dropped a very big b****ck!

Mad Max 2 ~ AWESOME film. Watched on bluray. It looked incredible. It also means im going to have to slowly replace all my dvds as my upscaled dvd copy simply does NOT compete!
I love Blu-Ray. I hate Sony and the money they are going to rip out of so many peoples wallets. I would have to replace over 300 movies to get true Blu-Ray quality and I just can not afford to do it.
I think I'm turning Japanese, I think I'm turning Japanese, I really think so............

Same as anything noodles. Just wait for the prices to drop. I managed to get Mad Max 2 for 12 quid off ebay (usually 20 quid). 5 years from now theyll be giving em away.
Im unsure why you hate sony for a progression in technology! Thats like saying we should all stick with the PS2!!
As it stands upscaled dvds look pretty damn fine, just blu rays are another step up. Im only going to update the films I REALLY like personally.
So The Lord Of The Rings trilogy and The Thing are on that list
Also, be aware. SOME of the early blu rays are actually (very poorly) upscaled dvds!! I believe 'Escape From New York' is one and actually looks worse than upscaling a normal dvd! Now that IS taking the piss..........

I've not yet seen blue ray or what the benefits are. Would hate to think of replacing all my movies.
Watched matrix revolutions last night.
Trust me spooky. When its on a decent hi def tv and set up properly its 'jaw dropping'!!

Upconverting is not usually the best idea...which is what they do with many older movies since there was no technology at the time. I've seen it done for some of the movies on a few channels I watch.

The thing is technology is moving way too fast. I want to wait until the market has a steady flow of a film media that is here to stay. I can imagine we will soon be watching movie on a disc the size of a polo mint or penny.

btw, watched Marked for Death last night.
Well we're already very near the limits of what we can see so id say within the next 10 years or so that will be it. Increasing 'pixels' will simply have no effect as we wouldnt be able to see a difference anyways. (in fact, on 32" tvs theres no discernable difference between the 2 hdtv formats now!)
Still, 3D tvs are on the way
