I saw this in the Theater. The movie that is. Anyone else see it? Let me know what ya think. I love Tim Burton. He is my favorite director. I own every thing that he has ever done. and Look forward to future works of his.

Okay, I have hard time with musicals, let's leave that aside for a moment. From the
moment I saw Beetlejuice in the theaters I knew I was a Burton fan for life.
So that being said even though there was a hell of a lot of singing I still thought
Sweeney Todd was a great flick and another winner for Burton and Depp.

On a side note, to this day Johnny has not seen it and won't. He does not like blood and gore
and knows that his character was brutal and the scenes were bloody.

Johnny is running around just 40 miles north of here for a couple months right now
shooting the new movie about John Dillinger and is doing a lot of local interviews.

I couldn't watch it for the simple reason I don't like the operatic feel to it.

There are a couple of reasons I thought the movie sucked and I'll just give you the two most obvious ones (for me at least)

1. I hate musicals

2. The story line was so old and worn out I was telling my BF what was going to happen and this was in the first few minutes after I got a feel for the movie.

Maybe it's just my L.E.O. mind but either way it's the oldest plot in the book. Man covets what other man has, Man devises way to get what other man has, other man is so obsessed with revenge he doesn't see what is in front of him. blah blah blah blah blah. I'm not knocking those who liked it I'm just saying it isn't my cup of Tea. I did however stay and watch it to the end only cause I

Actually I love all classic musicals and I love all types of music except opera. This particular film and its music were rather monotone and tedious (IMO). I just couldn't watch and listen to it. I probably would have if there were only a few songs but this was really a type of opera as there was hardly any speech in it.

Just not for me I'm afraid.
