Who Can Bear It
Who can bear to see the reality of life
Or to ponder the purpose of existence
Who can bear to think on the elimination of humanity
Or to ponder the reality of death
What is life that we are so afraid to embrace it
What is death that we race towards it
Why are we here or are we not
Why is it death that we see before us or is it life
Do we fear the touch of life
Knowing it brings pain
Do we hide behind all that is there
Just to live in fear
Does the thought of death lead us to life
Does the knowing of pain remove our fear
Does standing in the open cause us to be seen
Who can bear to see the reality of life

DON'T JUDGE
Walk a mile in my shoes
Before you're quick to judge.
See my life, through my eyes,
Before you hold a grudge.
No one knows what I've been through
Or how many tears I've cried.
No one cares about the pain
And the grief I've tried to hide.
If you look beyond the surface,
Past only the faults you see,
There is a heart of goodness.
That heart belongs to me.
So, don't say that I've done wrong
And try to cast the first stone
Because, sitting in your judgment seat,
You're hiding sins of your own.

Life is a miracle
Don't let it slip away,
Open your heart to others
Give of yourself each day.
See the beauty in everyone
Regardless of where they've been,
Some have a difficult journey
And really need a friend.
Share your gifts and talents
Listen with your heart.
Do the things you dream about
But don't have time to start.
Pick a bouquet of flowers
Show someone that you care,
Be gracious and forgiving
Life is never fair.
Hold on to your courage
You may need it down the road,
We all have a cross to bear
It could be a heavy load.
If you practice all these things
No matter where you roam,
You may find both sun and rain
But you'll never feel alone!

We come from a turbulent past
To an info-age moving way to fast
The fate of these lands
Is now placed in our hands
Will we bring destruction to an end
Will we have the power to mend
Save this fragile dreamland
Wash away our footprints in the sand
Global warming is causing weather changes right before our eyes
But we still blacken our skies
Sunrays take less time to burn our faces
But we still destroy our rain forests and just leave empty spaces
The men spill out of the factories everywhere
Punching their time clocks basically unaware
Don..™t realize what's happening to the big picture
The massive devastation of the atmospheric mixture
Every day go through their daily motions
Waiting it out for measly promotions
Distant stares and silent prayers
Monday to Friday . . . say goodbye
Our oceans are slicked with oil spills
Our waterways full of toxic waste that kills
We build our cities on mountains of pollution
Without an environmental solution
We live our lives in search of wealth
In the process damage our good health
Crime stories are found on every newspaper page
People loosing control in an uncertain age
The victims of greed are getting younger
In a world that still allows their hunger
Our petty problems make us hang down our heads
While million's go unfed
Desire unfolds the light of our day
But we cannot give in to the subtle decay
We must rise above the haze descending
Toward mass action mending
We must take control of our actions today
or the children of tomorrow will be the one's to pay
The new innkeepers shall soon take charge
of the next generation..™s voyage at large
Trends are patterned and patterns trended
But man's damage must be ended

Gather the grains from your fields,
celebrate the harvest
your dreams have yielded.

Now turn your focus toward
clearing dried and tangle growth.
Cut free the weak and dying branches
inhibiting your reach.

The season of Water washes
clear debris from the past
allowing you to see beyond
this single dying moment.

Flight of the Spirit

The darkness seems to swallow everything whole
Friends become enemies you rather not talk to
All hope seems to be lost in the nothingness around you
You close your eyes a pray to sleep forever
In your slumber you can feel a change taking place
Drifting in the darkness that took you over
Tumbling through the pain that took hopes place
Fears and peace have blended together
Never wanting to feel again
Pulling farther inward
Sudden jolt of something beyond your still born senses
Broken and lost you try to understand
Holy unthinkable creeps ‘round you
Stealing away your strength
Playing with your mind
Breaking through the darkness and the emptiness
Ever slowly the pain starts to subside
That which kept you enclosed within yourself
No longer feels so threatening
Feelings begin to pull at you again
Do you dare to let it all in again?
What if the pain is to much still?
How could you go back after all this time?
What could possibly come of this?
Could it truly be a calm I feel?
Thoughts drifting in and out of your mind
Slowly opening your eyes
Carefully taking in all that surrounds you
You can see a hint of light
Just a small glimmer in the distance
With every breath you take it all comes rushing back
The fears, the pain, the love, the laughter
The hurt grows to breaking point
The darkness crowds again
The hate for all that is near is back
You decide to make a break for it now or never
Inside the darkness writhes
Your eyes truly open for the first time
From your deep slumber you awake
All you can see with your newfound vision
The bright light, the glistening white all around,
The refreshing wind that carries you
Breathing becomes easier and freeing
Crystal clear hope cascades all around
You have come through to the other side
You once were lost and broken
Darkness took hold of you
Frightened and alone you hid inside
Now you are awakened
Your spirit is now anew
with the peaceful love that life brings
