Zhivago isn't the best example of Russian literature but its a damn good place to start.

Lord only knows how many times I read Gone with the Wind as a teenager. More recently...The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley was a refreshingly different point of view on Authorian Legend, told by the women who welded the power behind the throne. I highly recommend it.
The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind is a really good read, but the last few have been kind of stale. Had to re-read a few of them while waiting on the latest installment.

I read Fallen Angels several times when I found it, not a stellar book looking back, but it's about brotherhood, and I found it very interesting
The Outsiders, with Ponyboy and Dally and all them....when I was a kid, that was the best book there was
Leading with my Chin - Jay Leno, hillarious!
I'll hafta think about it more, I read a lot, but rarly do I re-read

I've read the Elric saga by Michael Moorcock at least 3 times. They are absolutely my favorite books of all time.
I think I'll hold out on that Russian literature until I can read it in Russian. I'm trying to teach myself and hopefully I'll have a tutor soon!
Fantastic!

The Once and Future King - T.H. White
Tolkein's Trilogy, as well as Farmer Giles of Ham and The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, of course
Bored of the Rings - Harvard Lampoon
The Chronicles of Amber - Roger Zelazny (named a daughter from these!)
The Foundation Trilogy - Asimov
The Perelandra Trilogy - C.S. Lewis
Chronicles of Narnia - Lewis again
V for Vendetta - graphix novel - Moore & Lloyd (INCREDIBLE read... gazillion times better'n the movie)
Salem's Lot - Steve King (and still one of the best novels of small-town American life ever penned!)
In fact, I've read all King's more than once (except Gunslinger series)... he's the best, and a neighbor, too!
Starship Troopers - Heinlein
The Complete Sherlock Holmes - Sir A.C. Doyle
The Necroscope series - Lumley (very entertaining! explains origins of term ESPionage...)
"The oxen are slow...
but the Earth is patient."

Re: Books so good you've read them more than once
Flags of Our Fathers - James Bradley, I've mentioned this book a few times on here, it's a non-fiction WW2 story about the 4 marines and 1 navy corpsman that were immortalized in the Iwo Jima flag raising photo..It's definately my fav book. Another good one is The Long Grey Line by Rick Atkinson, another non-fiction but this time it's about the West Point graduates from class of '66, they lost the most graduates in Vietnam, they're both quite inspirational, and the Flags of Our Fathers actually invoked a bit of emotion toward the end, which can be quite difficult to do. Both are very very strongly recommended for anyone who's into war stories.

Listening to: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintainence by Robert M. Pirsig.
Supposedly the all time most read work of philosophy. Truly life changing and a different story each time I listen to or read it.
