Default What books you workin on?

I have a huge stack right now

-Collapse (huge book about the downfall of the empires through history)

-Dear Mom

-one on the sinking of the Lusitania

-one on the great plagues

-The Angel On the roof(stories about a man's life in a simple UK town I believe)

-World's Worst Jobs (by a funny brit guy from Black Adder)

-Stupid White Men (Michael Moore...go ahead, say what you like)

-We Were Soldiers Once, And Young
(yes, the movie was a book first (havnt seen the movie, mel gibson stars though) about the Ia Drang valley, and X-ray and Albany; I'm reading a lot about the Vietnamese war right now. I'm not a war monger or anything, I'm just a history lover who gets into random points in history for several months, until I know enough about it. Vietnam is very interesting to read about, Fiction or Non-fiction)

That should keep me entertained a while I'll recommend any that I think you should read. I hear the one called Colapse is a great read

How 'bout you all?

Alrighty, let's see...

For me...
*The Elfstones of Shannara by Terry Brooks

For school... >_>
*The Norton Reader by Linda H. Peterson and John C. Brereton
*Rules for Writers by Diana Hacker
*Exploring Education: An Introduction to the Foundations of Education by Alan R. Sadovnik, PeterW. Cookson, Jr., and Susan F. Semel
*Looking Out/Looking In by Ronald B Adler, Russell F. Proctor II, and Neil Towne
*Essential Biology with Physiology by Neil A. Campbell, Jane B. Reece, and Eric J. Simon
*Human Biology: Condensed; Your Competitive Edge by Mimi Bres and Arnold Weisshaar
*Thinking About Biology: An Introductory Laboratory Manual by Mimi Bres and Arnold Weisshaar

... And just a little side note... the last THREE books are all for one class... *grumbles*

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Hunter Thompson
I'm glad I've waited to read it, I don't think I would have gotten it when the movie came out, I find it very very amusing, "as your attorney I advise you....."

if I may make a recommendation to anyone who likes military history books, 2 of my favorites are
Flags of our Fathers by James Bradley (I believe that's his name)
He's the son of a Navy Corpsman on Iwo Jima and he was one of the flag raisers on Mount Sirabachi memorialized in the bronze statue at the WW2 memorial in Washington.

and The Long Grey Line - Rick Atkinson. It's about the West Point class of 1966, the class the lost the most class members to the Vietnam war, a Pulitzer Prize winner I believe. Both are great books.
