I thought about getting a new camera, but that would really be a waste for me. I don't take enough pictures and the camera I have is pretty nice. Videos are another story though. Good for gymnastics for scooter of course, and I would like some top notch vids of Cat Tales to post. And maybe some from work!!
Really? I might take a look myself. I've only seen pics. The actual camera isn't supposed to be released here for a couple of weks but I shopped around.
Very nice camera. My personal camera experiences are all pre-digital. I worked in a full-scale photo lab called Photo Finish Hawaii in downtown Honolulu in 1988/1989 right when the original Cannon EOS was hitting big.
I even got to develop the whole series of Aloha Airlines Flight 243 Air Disaster Insurance Investigation Photos. If you get a chance look into the story because it's an amazing testament to how damn sturdy Commercial Airliners are built that they could land that airplane with so much fuselage missing.
At the time I had a nice Pentax SLR and a crapload of lenses, filters, etc....my brother in law bought at a Navy Surplus Auction at Pearl Harbor for $300.00 (It didn't hurt that he worked in the Navy Camera Shop and knew that it had never been used and that the full set cost the Navy over $4,000.00 in 1985.) I used it for a while and then it just spent years locked in it's really nice steel case. I saw an ad about a year ago asking for cameras for the local High School photography lab and donated it. I'd rather see it used than sitting in a closet.
I think I stunned them when I didn't ask for anything for it. It even had this gigantic sports zoom lens that was about 2 feet long. I never used half the stuff it had with it.
I still got quite a few SLR cameras and assorted lenses and filters. Todays technology and wizardry with the digital cameras is fast superceding the old timers but i still like the feel of them and the results I get.
My new Fuji arrives in a couple of days as I just got it confirmed by e-mail 20 mins ago.
