Local Floods

We've had so much rain these last few weeks there has been terrible flooding in the surrounding areas of Kettering. These are not my pics I found them while surfing and decided to share.

No we are about a mile and a half away from the flood zones. Pretty safe we we are its just the surrounding areas. however the weather is a pain in the ass. Very depressing and can't go anywhere when its like this. Its the worst summer weather we've had for many a year.

I still have lot of friends from when we lived in England and they have all commented on
the amount of rain this year.

It's flooding everywhere. sourse the flooding over here in the southwest is normal for monsoon season

If it persists much longer we could be an Atlantis. Local news has reported that homes in Oxford had to be evacuated because of the enormity of it. Peoples house are in 3-4 feet of water. Insurance companies will take a hammering though they will try to wangle out of it and call it an "Act of God"

That flooding is lookin bad.. its making the news every day here too. Hope nothing bad start spreading, great place for bacteria though

Odd you say it's the worst summer in years spooky... been faaar more rainy than usual here in BC too. Good for keeping down forest fires though.

Thank you for sharing the flood pics Sp00k!! I hope you don't go under either one of ya. Been very freaking dry this summer here!! I will take some of that rain!!! My plants are not able to keep up with the sun beating down and I can't seem to water then enough!! Hope you get some sun soon !!

Homeowners and renters insurance here has paltry coverage for flood damage and loss.
A separate policy for flood damage has to be carried for those at risk.

We do not have to worry because we at the top of a very tall hill. The valley below
us floods ever 10-15 years.

That is a small mercy for you but I bet the winds and cold air are felt much more.

You are right, the wind up here is sometimes frightening. There have been times where
it has been to windy to light the BBQ grill. In winter it creates drifts like the ones
in the picture I posted.

my work got cancled the 2nd day in a row because of rain. and today the tortoise habbitat for the family desert tortiose was flooded and had to rescue him form drowning sort of
