I thought I had posted these pics here before but apperently I have not.My buddy and I go off exploring from time to time and on one of our outings we came up on this old plant. It has taken me 2 years to find someone who could tell me what it was..well today I found out.It is an old nitrogen plant that operated in the 20's and 30's and was told it was the first in the country and thats where the name of the dam came from ''Nitrolee'' there are a bunch of pics around here of the dam so here is where the name came from.

the old place use to be bigger the old foundations are still there. I thought it look like somthing from the blair witch project.

Wish I could show you all an old Bhuddist temple my Dad and I discovered trekking in the mountains of Oahu back in 1986, tucked up behind Tripler Army Medical Center on privately owned land in Moanalua Valley that used to be open to the public.

Supposedly it is between 300-400 years old and pre-dates Captain Cook's discovery of the Hawaiian Islands by at least 100 years. You could walk 20 feet infront of it and never see it. While it's existence is known it is not widely known and some idiots apparently graffitied it, causing the land owners to seal the property.

It was like being in an Indiana Jones movie, it was so cool.

I love finding old things like that, I have been told of an old armory that is on an island in the lake that Ben Franklin designed and built during the revolutionary war. We are going on the hunt this fall when the snakes take cover for the winter.
