Ok.... Im ampted for this game.
Ive been thinking... Id like a new shooter/action game soon, and there are a few big ones coming out. A new Call of Duty, a new Battlefield game, and now, a new series from Tom Clancy
Originally, I wasnt looking at Tom Clancy's current project End War, because both COD 4 and Battlefield - Bad Comany look awesome. Bad Company and COD 4 will both be set in near future, realistic conflicts. Bad Company features entirely destructable environments (blow out a hole in a building to snipe from, or take a tank and blow an entire floor off a house to clear it) and COD 4 is a continuation of the amazing series. Battlefield Bad Company actually looks a little more fun, and unlike previous Battlefield games, has a full single player game, complete with characters and a major plot line. The online game should be large, and intense
HOWEVER
I recently looked carefully at End War.... it's not a FPC, but a type of a strategy game (a new era almost, for councels). It's not top down, God-like, similar to games we know such as Starcraft, Warcraft or Command and Conquer, but more of a POV from the General of a few hundred, or thousand troops
What is awesome about this game is this:
It's an ongoing, massive online war. If you've never heard of WWII Online, then you're missing out on one of the most interesting games yet created. You can chose Allies or Axis in WWII Online, and battle thousands of players in the air, sea or ground accross Europe, battling for towns and bridges, as well as protecting factories and industry. The campaigns last months, there is a high command component, and full rank system. Entire brigades and battallions exist. The learning curve is HUGE, but it's something to check out, even if you have no interest in playing it.
Tom Clancy's Endwar will be similar. You will battle other players online, and the war for Europe will last weeks, or months with your battles effecting the front lines.
You get to create your own units, personalize and upgrade. When a man dies, he stays dead. Reinforcements must be choppered or drivin in, no magic. You can chose to make your unit mechanized, or specialized, or anything inbetween, with over 400 upgrades to work at. More combat means the men you carry on with have character, and gain battlefield skill and knowledge. And what's coolest is it's sort of like a FPS without pulling the trigger yourself. You may watch from a specific man or squads POV or watch from the back as the battle unfolds
What's great about it is, like a real General, you dont push buttons. You can control almost the entire game with voice commands that should work on several languages and even with heavy accents. This isnt a shitty old Tom Clancy game where voice com. hardly worked, this game is
based heavily on voice command.
If you dont enjoy the huuuge online war constantly raging, you may battle with a few friends against AI, against 1 friend, or on your own against computer armies
It's set in the year 2020, with a war between the US/EU and the Russian Federation over natural resources. The weapons systems are systems currently in development, such as the Future Warfare system under research in the US Military with heavy reliance on unmanned vehicles and otherwise.
Due to a STAR wars-like anti ballistic missile set up, anything in the high atmosphere can be shot down, recreating a WWIII with an old fashioned, WWII-esque style warfare, as some have already predicted. The plot is straight out of the headlines, the graphics are unreal, and Im drooling over this game.
If you've followed Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell or Ghost Recon games, this game is rumoured to tie in the events of the most recent of the 3 series' plots. One of the lead designers even mumbled something about the Rainbow Six men now being at the top of US Special Forces chain of command, Ghost Recon men being at the top of the EU chain, and laughed something out about President Sam Fisher

Personally, I LOVE the idea of a HUGE online battle constantly raging, and campaings that last weeks, not 25 minutes, where your country is counting on you

If you love the idea, again look up WWII Online. Very deep detailed complex game massive onling game.
