It is definitely awesome. I have mine here in my dorm room with me. Just wish the school's network wasn't so finicky... you have to have a program to access the internet installed, or else I'd have the Wii hooked up to the 'net so I could do the Everyone Votes channel, etc.

How do you 'earn' these so-called points to buy the internet channel ?

You buy them. When I got my internet browser it was free, though I have heard talk that they were planning to make it a paid item in the future. I guess they got around to it? Points can be bought in Wii Shop Channel for... I think $10 for 1000 points. You can either go there to buy the points, or you can buy them at a store for the same price.. I know Wal-Mart sells the cards with it. If you buy it from the Wii Shop Channel, you can do it my credit card, and then go immediately over to the add ons place... (can't remember the name, but it's in the same channel) and get the browser.

That's what I thought, but then why the hell do they have points. I mean FFS.... Just charge $5 and be done with it, instead of 500 points, which costs you $5. sheesh...

Yeah... it would make more sense... but I think they did it so that there was less conversion for each item. I mean, it is international. If you live in Japan, it'll give you the standard for yen to points, and then everything else just says points.

yeah, yeah... Not like they could, convert it on the screen! I mean the thing has the weather for each persons location!!

Anywho....

I'll get that Internet Channel someday, but no today... too tired and too broke.

But meh... I guess having a standard system probably does make it a little easier for them.

Ah but kids ask their parents for points and they feel good knowing that instead of giving them 5$, they can give them 100,000 points

You can also buy points on Cards from the store if you dont wana bother doing it over the net

That's awesome though... I know my buddy around here with the Wii has the most popular place on campus

It worked fine at home, it's just the school's network. They have it set up so that to access the net here, you have to download and constantly have on this little program that makes sure you have the most updated version of anti-virus and anti-spyware software on your computer. If you don't, it limits your access. Kind of lame, but I guess it ensures people a relative safety when connecting to the school's network.

I would buy a Wii tomorrow if they released Time Crisis II. Still my favorite game
