Re: Stephen Hawking
Understanding? Hell if we new that we would be rich in knowledge. Always the big question & its practically insurmountable to answer or fathom.
I think every theoretical answer will raise more questions than answers.
I find it hard to come to terms with infinity regarding the universe but how else could it be? Maybe its a trial for us mere mortals to see if we can build, grow & enhance or enrich our lives for the better of mankind, possibly our goal or purpose in life.
There will be a wide range of concepts & I can honestly say you've opened up a real topical challenge.

I Challenge anyone to listen/read his second book, The Universe in a Nutshell.
This guy is AMAZING... He is hilarious, too, btw. He takes a very critical approach to everything, guided by his own philosophies, and has made some damn wonderful discoveries for it.

I know the man is a true genius & overcome a lot of odds to get where he is. To be honest I aint read any of his books but I'm sure without doubt they'll be a very good learning curve.
Anything that can shed light on our life here has got to be worthy of support.

You see John Stewart burning him (maybe it was Colbert) the other day?
Been meaning to read a Brief History of Time for ages, but I know it'll be a tough read, and I'll only get half of it so maybe sometime during the summer

Just went and watched it in the News Room
Funny as hell... Only Colbert could mess with Henniger AND Hawking in the same segment!!
I think The Universe in a Nutshell is a better book, BTW.

I read the first one a long time ago... hardly understood and now almost have fully forgotten.
Listened to Universe in a Nutshell last year while on the route. I have to rewind a lot, but still like reading on the clock.

Re: Stephen Hawking
I had a feeling you might have it on audio. Tho he maybe an intellect & very astute I think it maybe heavy going so if I was to read it I'd probably just do a chapter at a time to try & absorb his concepts.

That is what I Do with books like that. Listen for about an hour or so, or just until I feel a bit overwhelmed with the material and quit for the day. Let the subconscious do its thing.
