It was raining in buckets and the camera was in the truck so I just stayed under eaves and watched it.
Nature is an amazing force. I could not even imagine being in a 8.9. I was in a 6.2 near San Diego in the 80s and that was enough for me.

I was 30 miles from the epicenter of that one that creamed San Fran in 1989. The earth definitely shook!!

That must have been more than a trip.
That was horrible to watch. I was working at a motorcycle dealer in 89. We had a TV in back and the whole staff was watching the destruction. The owner was from Sonoma and was just totally freaked out.

It was a riot for me, as I was in Monterey which is basically a big giant rock. The only damage was the main generator of Pacific Gas and Electric in our area. No power for two days!!

I love the Montery area. Anytime I go to Laguna Seca I make a point of hiking around Montery.

My buddy and I crawled under a fence at the top of the point on the Pennisula into a restricted area one night. Some great views from up there!!
