Congo & Pogo
Felis serval - SERVAL

Congo & Pogo are non-related. Congo, the male was born August 11, 1997. Pogo, the female was born August 13, 1997. They were born at a private facility in Western Washington. Their parents were owned by a Lutheran minister who was recently widowed and was taking her family to Africa for sabbatical. Cat Tales was contacted thru our Internet site and offered the babies. They arrived at the Park September 19, 1997. Both the cubs were ill and were in intensive care for the first 3 weeks after their arrival. The Serval can be very swift (as fast as 45 mph / 73 kph) over short distances, with a bounding run, and can leap to catch birds 12 feet (4m) from the ground. It climbs well and will take refuge in trees if threatened by large predators. Servals were once found all over Africa, but are now found only in Central Africa and along the Mediterranean. The Serval is a very unusual looking cat. They have long legs, a short tail, big ears, little head, long neck, spots and stripes.
Unless I am misunderstanding this, these two servals are Ellf's parents.
